HIKING MARATHON

 The GCC Hikers invite you to join us for the annual Cumberland County Hiking Marathon! Together, we will complete a portion of the challenge by hiking the following 4 trails:

Saturday, September 12th –Fairfield Glade Paved Trail
Saturday, September 19th – CMSP Storybook/ADA Trail
Saturday, September 26th – Obed River Park Paved Trail
Sunday, September 27th – Centennial Park Paved Trail & Crossville Greenway

Meet at the church at 9:00 AM to carpool on Saturdays and 1:30 PM on Sunday the 27th.

For rules and registration, visit www.hikingmarathon.com to sign up as an individual or as a family. Every registered participant who completes at least one trail will receive a free T-shirt. Not registering? No problem—we’d still love for you to hike with us!   Children are welcome with an adult, and pets are welcome on a leash.   If you would like to receive notifications of weather-related changes or cancellations due to low participation, please RSVP to Group Leader Tracina Cross at (219) 510-3947 at least 24 hours in advance. CHRISTMAS PLAY MEETING

Parents of children participating in the Christmas play are invited to attend a brief meeting on Sunday, September 6th,  immediately following the second service.

Christmas Play Practices will be held on Tuesdays, beginning September 15th from 5:00-6:30 PM.  All children and youth are invited to participate. Mark your calendars:  the play will be presented on Sunday, December 13th at 5:00 PM. For more information contact Joey or Geneva Thompson.

VETERANS GROUP
We’re excited to announce a New Small Group for Veterans and Surviving Spouses of Veterans!  This group will be a place to connect with other veterans, share some “war stories,” support and pray for one another.  The first meeting will be held on Friday, September 11 at 6:00 PM, on the 25th anniversary of 9/11. The Cumberland County Veterans Service Officer will be at the meeting to explain benefits available to veterans and answer any questions. After the first meeting, the group will continue to meet at Grace on the second Friday of each month at 6:00 PM.  For more information, contact Scott Fuller or at 713-494-1581.

Alive Student Ministry will not be meeting on Wednesday, September 16th as the youth leaders will be at a ministry training conference.

GRACE SISTERS TO WOMEN OF JOY

The Grace Sisters women's ministry will be enjoying a faithfilled weekend in the Smoky Mountains as they attend the Women of Joy Conference Friday, October 9th- 11th.  A brief  informational meeting will be held on Sunday, October 4th at  Noon  in the sanctuary.  All Grace Sisters attending Women of Joy are encouraged to attend this meeting.  For ticket availability or more information, contact Women's Ministry Director, Teresa Breeding.
